Juliette Muir: Jewelry as Ritual, Story and Intention

Juliette Muir: Jewelry as Ritual, Story and Intention

Juliette Muir’s handcrafted jewelry is more than adornment; it's art that nourishes the soul. Each piece is infused with intention, storytelling, and connection, reflecting her deep inspiration from nature and mysticism.

Muir's journey into lost-wax casting began in 2012 in Los Angeles. What started as a creative side path quickly blossomed into a calling. Before jewelry, she was a makeup artist, using beauty and styling to build characters—a love for storytelling that now forms the foundation of her jewelry practice. Her designs are deeply personal, reflecting her experiences and an ancestral connection to the outdoors, particularly through her relative, explorer John Muir. Visions come to her in the stillness of nature, taking form through rituals like meditation and writing. These ideas are then sculpted into vibrant pieces using the ancient process of lost-wax casting.

For Juliette, the journey is as important as the final creation. She works thoughtfully with materials, especially gold, and partners with small, family-owned manufacturers committed to recycled metals and ethical sourcing. Her philosophy is that jewelry should be chosen, cherished, and charged with meaning, rather than endlessly collected.

Looking ahead, Muir is preparing to launch a new collection that explores the multifaceted nature of the self, promoting acceptance and embracing personal transformation and growth. She also plans to share her expertise by offering classes in lost-wax jewelry, passing on the power of creation.

Every piece is made with intention, designed to be worn often, and created to hold a feeling. For Juliette Muir, it’s about one meaningful piece over a hundred forgettable ones.
